Building Christian character in our children is the most important gift we can give. Teaching by example is the best way to help them learn. There are many role models in the Bible. God has given us many heroes. Their stories all reflect how our heavenly father guided them to rely on him to make the right choices. As Bible teachers, we will guide your children in learning to Fully Rely On God to help them make the right choices and to build Christian character.
For one hour (7-8 p.m.) Wednesday evenings during the school year (September-May), we board a spaceship bound for Bible times. Each week we study one of God’s heroes. We sing, we read stories from the Bible and learn Bible verses, we pray for each other and our families, we learn to share and care about each other, we use our manners and exercise patience and we eat pizza. Then we count down and our spaceship blasts off to Bible times. Our Bible stories are presented three different times in three different ways. We have a stage and each week our doll characters are dressed in clothes that look similar to those worn in Bible times. The stage is set so it appears to be as much like the story as we can make it. The story is told as if the characters were talking to the children and to each other. We also have a puppet skit each week. Sally, Sara and Grandmother link the Bible story to an experience that we can relate to as an every day life experience. Our third story application is done with an object lesson. As the story is retold, an object is used to emphasize the purpose of the story - what God wants us to learn from the story He has given us. The object is a reminder of that story and helps the children to remember what they have learned.
In Time Travelers 2005-06, as we continue to learn to Fully Rely On God, we will come to know our God as an awesome God. We will find out that God is the great Creator of everything, holy and just, all powerful, and all knowing. But He is also caring and loving, concerned about us and always ready to listen when we call on Him. We can talk to Him about anything and everything. He is our provider and protector and He loves us more than anyone ever could.
